Robert J. Mischler

Robert J. Mischler of Tryon, N.C. was born October 2, 1926, and died March 23, 2017.
He was born in Branford, Conn. During WW II he served on the USS French in the Pacific Theatre. He graduated from the University of Connecticut and also received a MS degree and supervisory certification there.
He became principal of Cheshire High School in Connecticut for over 25 years.
After retirement, he supervised a manufacturing facility until he and his wife, Barbara moved to Tryon, N.C. He was an active part of 4-H for a number of years, volunteered at Travel & Tourism and the annual barbecue festival from its beginning. He was initiated into the Cheshire Hall of Fame and the Second Wind Hall of fame here.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara H. Mischler, three children and an extended family.
There will be no services here. Burial will be in Branford, Conn. A memorial in his name can be directed to the 4-H Foundation or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
