Caitlin Ronan’s work entitled “Facebook” took second place in the Sculpture category of the juried high school arts competition, 2017 Showcase of Excellence, at Tryon Fine Arts Center.

More than 40 students from eight schools in North and South Carolina submitted a variety of drawing, sculpture, painting, mixed media, printmaking, and photography work for this year’s Showcase of Excellence.

Showcase of Excellence artwork is currently on display in TFAC’s Gallery I. A live auction of the art and reception will be held on Sunday, April 23 at 4 p.m. Tickets and additional information are available at tryonarts.org or by calling TFAC at 828-859-8322.

Showcase of Excellence is sponsored by major sponsors including Rotary Club of Tryon Foundation, TD Bank, Kiwanis Club of Tryon, Main Street Insurance, and Chris Bartol Photography. Proceeds from the event support local teachers through TFAC’s Be Inspired Grant program.
