POLK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORT

During the month of February 2017, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office answered 587 calls for service.

There were 12 felony arrests, 26 misdemeanor arrests, 24 citations issued, 73 civil papers served and 29 criminal papers served.

Officers completed 1,040 house checks, 2,818 business checks, 1,573 church checks, assisted the public four times and patrolled 26,355 miles.

The Polk County Jail booked 81 inmates, including 63 males and 18 females.

POLK COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT RESULTS

In a Polk County Criminal Superior Court Administrative Session on March 1, 2017, with Judge Jeffrey P. Hunt presiding, 129 cases were heard. Some cases were continued or dismissed.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Gregory Neil Corder was convicted of level five driving while impaired and assault on a government official. Corder was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, two days in jail with credit, a $200 fine and court costs.

Jessica Dawn Garcia was convicted of a probation violation. Garcia’s probation was extended 12 months.

Greg Griffen was convicted of injury to real property. Griffen was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

Jerry Lynn Hipp was convicted of financial card theft and financial card fraud. Hipp was sentenced to two years supervised probation, restitution of $1,153 and court costs.

Jeffery David Hoyle was convicted of four counts of breaking and or entering and four counts of larceny after break/enter. Hoyle was sentenced to 15-27 months in prison with credit for 180 days.

Christopher C. Jones was convicted of level two driving while impaired, flee/elude arrest with motor vehicle, speeding and reckless driving to endanger. Jones was sentenced to one year supervised probation, 240 hours of community service, two days in jail, a $500 fine and court costs.

Jeffrey Ellis Reynolds was convicted of possession of stolen firearm and possession of stolen goods/property. Reynolds was sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit, one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

POLK COUNTY DISTRICT COURT RESULTS

In Polk County District Court on Monday, Feb. 27, with Judge David K. Fox presiding, 108 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Stephen Affatato Jr. was convicted of violation of court order. Affatato’s judgement was modified to two days credit in lieu of paying monies.

James Daniel Asbury II was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia. Asbury was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs.

Tina Franklin Belue was convicted of two counts of failure to comply with monies and larceny after break/enter. Belue’s judgement was modified to 48 hours in lieu of paying monies and to waive jail fees for failure to comply with monies and Belue was sentenced to one year supervised probation and court costs for larceny after break/enter.

William Scott Belue was convicted of three counts of breaking and or entering, three counts of larceny and second-degree trespassing. Belue was sentenced to 45 days in jail with 63 days credit.

Ashley Marie House was convicted of injury to personal property, false report to police station and obstructing justice. House was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit and court costs.

Melissa Michell Howell was convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Howell was sentenced to one day in jail with credit and court costs.

Omar Yusuf Lamont was convicted of uttering forged instrument and misdemeanor larceny. Lamont was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Allison Kristi Whipple was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Whipple was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

In Polk County District Court on March 1, 2017, with Judge T. Mack Brittain presiding, 170 cases were heard. Some cased were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Patrick Matthew Barker was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Barker was fined $40 and court costs.

Kenneth F. Maybin was convicted of littering not greater than 15 lbs. Maybin was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Robert Vance McCraw was convicted of first-degree trespassing enter/remain, injury to personal property and assault on a female. McCraw was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit, one year supervised probation and $921 in restitution.

Dana Nicole Mosseller was convicted of exceeding safe speed. Mosseller was to pay court costs.

Alfonso Nunez Jr. was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Nunez was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Kaleb David Patrie was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Patrie was sentenced to two days in jail.

Stacy Marie Plemmons was convicted of simple possession of schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of schedule V controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Plemmons was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit.

Jeremy Shay Ruff was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Ruff was sentenced to 24 hours of community service and court costs.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY ARRESTS

Feb. 28

Brandon Nodine, 33, from Landrum was arrested and charged with a Landrum Magistrate Court offense. Nodine’s bond is set at $1,037.50.

March 1

Amanda Tapp, 23, from Landrum was arrested and charged with possession of schedule I-IV drugs (first offense) and possession of meth (first offense). Tapp’s bond is set at $6,000.
