Polk builds big halftime lead, blanks Erwin for first win of season

Polk County raced to a 3-0 halftime lead and went on to post a 5-0 win over Erwin on Monday evening in a non-conference girls soccer clash in Leicester.

Reese Alley, Lauren Ketwitz and Addie Lynch all scored in the first half for the Wolverines (1-1). Rhian Alley then added a pair of second-half goals to seal the win.

Reese Alley, Rhian Alley, Ketwitz and Cameron Capozzi each had assists for Polk County.

Malena Roman recorded her first shutout of the season in goal, making two saves.

The Wolverines made their home debut on Wednesday, hosting Madison in the Western Highlands Conference opener for both teams.
