Robert Thomas Daniels, Jr.

Robert Thomas Daniels, Jr., 79 of Columbus, N.C. passed away Feb. 20, 2017.

Bob was born in St. Louis, Mo. and attended Beaumont High School and the University of Missouri, and served in the US Army. He enjoyed a career in sales, living in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania before retiring in North Carolina, to be near two of his sons and have longer/milder seasons for golfing. When he wasn’t at the Links O’Tryon rangering or playing 18 holes, you could find him watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.

Bob is survived by Sharon (nee Pas), his wife of 55 years, sons Patrick (Julie) and Timothy (Tracey) of Tryon, and Michael of Charleston, S.C., a daughter Julianne Morrison (Timothy) of Maryville, Tenn., 13 grandchildren and his sister, Julianne Schewe of Florissant, Mo.

Bob strived to make people smile and add a little joy to their day. In lieu of flowers or a donation, take a moment to engage a perfect stranger and make them smile, as Bob would do on any given day. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held at Links O’ Tryon in early April.
