The power of suggestion: pursing lips and a slight shaking of the head brings a chicken to life. Arms held up to conceal all but the eyes reveal the ominous presence of a crocodile. These are the tools of storyteller Antonio Rocha’s trade, and fans will once again enjoy his mastery when he returns to Super Saturday on March 18.

Decrying the “onslaught of TV, movies, and other passive technological ways of gaining information,” Rocha emphasizes that his art “begins [with] the eloquent suggestion of the performer, and is completed in the mind of the observer.”

In his show, “Animalesco,” which he will be presenting at the Congregational Church hall, the audience will have the opportunity to join him on a wild trip into the jungles of Brazil and Africa carried solely by his movements and fantastic sound effects.
