Free SCORE seminar at ICC Polk
If you are running a small business or nonprofit organization or thinking about starting one, advertising is a necessary investment for building awareness, understanding, memorability, and customer preference for your brand. The more you can do yourself, the less the expense. And, the better you do it, the greater your return on investment.
“How to be your own ad agency” is a free Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) seminar on Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Isothermal Community College, Polk Campus, 1255 West Mills St., Columbus.
SCORE Certified Mentor Vince Verrecchio will share practical insights based on an advertising career of more than 45 years in creative roles that included copywriter, art director, photographer, video producer, creative director, and ultimately owner of his own agency. You will hear and see the basics of concept, copy, layout, and photography with topics as follows:
• Creativity is all about making connections
• Simply write for the reader
• Layouts that invite in and guide through
• The 6C’s of photography…and camera is not one
All business owners and employees of small businesses and potential start-ups are requested to pre-register online at ncsbc.net//center.aspx?center=75260; by e-mail to Dee Spurlin at firstname.lastname@example.org; or call 828-395-1416.
