William (Bill) Hilbig, devoted father, husband, son, and friend entered the kingdom of Heaven, surrounded by his loving family on Feb. 7, 2017.
Bill was born in Lockport, N.Y. on March 9, 1958 to his loving parents, Donald and Beverly Hilbig. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1976 where he met his wife to be but didn’t realize it at that point, Lori Rossman. Traveling down life’s crooked road they found each other again in 1985 and married in Brighton. This started a 32-year love affair that continues in his apparent absence.
In Bill’s short 58 years he changed many lives. With assistance from his wife he produced the joys of his life, Nicole, Natalie, and Hunter. He lived life euphorically with his kids. He was the greatest dad and husband, noted by more than his immediate family. Bill had all he needed at home. He led his family with pure love and a sense of humor that made him a magnet for others. It was impossible to feel bad in his presence. Bill was a resource of support for many people, yet he likely never knew it. He carried his gift with grace and honor. He was simply…Bill.
Lori is planning an informal memorial gathering at their house Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at 3 p.m. Nicole noted that he would not be comfortable with suit and tie. Bill loved to have family and friends over for any reason. He demonstrated remarkable courage in his 3 year relationship with cancer. He never let it interfere with his gift. Cancer didn’t win this one, Bill did and he showed us how it’s done.
Bill is survived by his wife Lori, daughters Nicole (Aaron) and Natalie, a son Hunter, and a whole lot of other people that really liked and admired him.
