The Polk County Beekeepers start off the new year with the first meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Mill Spring Ag Center. Phil Holbert of Holbert Bee Supply will be the first speaker of 2017. He will be speaking about where beekeepers should be focusing to support the bees in the yearly bee cycle. Bring a dish to share for the potluck and questions to ask. Attendees are asked to bring their own utensils and plates to help cut down on waste.
The Polk County Beekeeping Association normally meets the third Thursday of the month from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Mill Spring Agricultural Center. However, there is a conflict with a new beekeepers class being taught at the Agricultural Extension Office at the same time. For more information, contact Lisa Krolak at 828-279-9643.
