Concern for clean water

“Congress Rolls Back Rule on Coal Mining Companies Dumping Waste into Streams,” reads the headline from reviewjournal.com. This means that the House and Senate agreed to roll back an Obama-era rule that prohibited coal mining companies from dumping waste into nearby streams.
Rep. McHenry, our representative for Polk County, voted to approve this measure when it was before the House. Senators Burr and Tillis also approved this act in the Senate. Various senators are stating that this will create more jobs in the coal mining industry. Guess they don’t care that there will be less clean water to drink for humans and that the surrounding wildlife will also be affected.
