Richard Frederici

Frederick Richard Frederici, 86, of Tryon, N.C. passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 31, 2017 in White Oak Manor of Tryon.

Born in Broome County, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Vivian Snyder Frederici and husband of the late Betty Jeffrey Frederici who passed away in 2016. Mr. Frederici was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. After serving his country, he went to work for IBM until his retirement. He was an avid gardener and woodworker. Prior to moving to Tryon in 2014, he and his wife lived in Chambersburg, Pa. Besides his family and hobbies, his love was spending time in Vermont.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, David R. Frederici.

Surviving is one son, Duane R. Frederici (Kathryn) of Sherrill’s Ford, N.C. and his close and special friends the Benedict family of Pennsylvania.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C. with Chaplain Justin Nelson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Polk County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
