Brevard held Polk County to two points in an eight-minute span Saturday and went on to take a 63-36 win over the Wolverines in non-conference girls basketball action at Polk.

Brevard (9-12) held a 15-7 lead with 1:10 left in the first period when Bella Marino hit a short jumper for Polk (1-17). The Blue Devils would score 12 of the next 14 points, a basket by Taylor Newton the only Wolverine points until the final minute of the second period, when Autumn Owen hit a free throw and added a basket for a 27-12 halftime deficit.

The Blue Devils steadily built the lead in the second half to account for the final margin.

Owen had 14 points and four rebounds to lead the Wolverines, with Taylor Newton adding seven points and five rebounds. Haley Fowler finished with six points, with Anna McFadden scoring five and Mariah Overholt, Ava Marino and Bella Marino each scoring two.
