Betty L. Davis

Betty Lefler Davis of Tryon, N.C. passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 after a long illness at Waterford Dillon Pointe Assisted Living in Spartanburg, S.C. She was 93 years old.

She was a longtime member of Tryon Presbyterian Church. She worked for Public Service Gas Company of N.C. for 25 years. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Davis of Columbus, N.C. and Janet Broome (Russell) of Spartanburg, S.C.; two grandchildren, Jamie Bulman (Graham) of Spartanburg, S.C. and Nicholas Broome of Spartanburg, S.C.; and one great-granddaughter Emma Bulman.

She is also survived by a sister, Joanna Carpenter of Columbia, S.C. and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Walter Lefler, Charles Lefler and Caleb Lefler and two sisters, Jean Noble and Myrle Kerber.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Dent Davis officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
