Polk County Early College student Kelsey Reedy unveiled her art exhibit “Poverty Through Our Eyes” at Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry Tuesday evening to friends and family. The exhibit, on display through Feb. 3 at Outreach, showcases poverty and hunger in western North Carolina, and is a collection of the results from Reedy’s senior project. Reedy said she thanks Outreach’s Research Development Director Wendy Thomas for the inspiration. Reedy, who said she is drawn to helping people, plans to get her master’s degree in social work. Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry is located at 134 White Dr. in Columbus. (Photo by Michael O’Hearn)
