It’s a Wednesday afternoon and kids are busy digging in the dirt. Children from ages 5 to 14 are harvesting from grow buckets at the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist School Bridge Program. The kids are learning how to grow and enjoy vegetables. In addition to their individual buckets, the children are tending the church micro-garden which distributes vegetables to area neighbors through the church’s Share Thy Bread food outreach program and the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Thrift Shop. Not only are they learning to eat fresh, but to also give back to the community! (Submitted by Desiree Magnant)
