Columbus man arrested on firearm, drug charges

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Police Department recently arrested a Columbus man for possessing drugs and a firearm by a felon.

Scott Allen Foster, of 198 E. Constance Street, Columbus, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Columbus Police reports.

Police officers executed a search warrant at Foster’s home on Jan. 18 that resulted in the felony weapons charge and drug violations.

Foster was transported to the Polk County Jail and was given a $15,000 secured bond, according to police reports.

The Columbus Police Department was assisted in the execution of the search warrant by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
