Estella Stone Hanson, 96, of Tryon, N.C. passed away on January 15, 2017. Born November 1920 in Woodruff, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Daniel Madison Stone and Blanche Woodward Scott Stone. She was wife of the late John Earl Hanson.

She is survived by daughter, Kristine Milinda Hanson and son William Perry Hanson, both from Nashville, Tenn. Brother T.J. Stone of Woodruff, S.C. Preceded in death by sister Ollie Cleo Stone Hyatt. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tryon.

She was active in the Order of the Eastern Star in New Prospect, S.C. and was very active in her community and an avid gardener. She retired from the EPA.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Tryon First Baptist Church.  Memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church conducted by Rev. Jeff Harris. Burial will be in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Woodruff, SC.
