Friends of Agriculture Breakfast to be held Jan. 18

The Polk County Office of Agricultural Economic Development and Polk County Farm Bureau invite the community to attend the monthly Friends of Agriculture Breakfast on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Each Friends of Agriculture Breakfast features a breakfast and a speaker on areas of interest to farmers, gardeners and food enthusiasts.

The event is from 7 – 8 a.m. at the 4-H Building in Columbus located at 135 Locust St. It is free and open to the public.

This month’s breakfast will feature a talk about sourcing local products by Stan Yoder, owner of Openroad Coffee in Columbus. Yoder will discuss the collaborative partnerships he has developed with local farmers and will share insights about the successes and challenges that he has faced in his commitment to source local goods.

Donations of canned foods will be collected at this event to benefit the clients of Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry.
