A group of Polk County’s track and field athletes got their first look this season at the JDL Fast Track, site of the state 2A/1A indoor championships, competing in the Visit Winston-Salem High School Kickoff meet Saturday in Winston-Salem.

The Wolverines battled a number of larger schools and unattached athletes in the meet, the first of three meets at JDL in which Polk County will compete before the state championship meet in February.

Polk County pole-vaulters Jake Justice and Troy Lieberman finished in the top five for the best showing for a Wolverine competitor.
