Martha Jewell McGuinn, 77, of Mill Spring, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016.

Jewell was the daughter of the late James Allen and Crittie Allen Condrey. She retired from the Polk County School system where she served as a teacher assistant for 25 years at Sunny View Elementary School.

Jewell is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gary McGuinn; three sons, James (Cathie) McGuinn of Mill Spring, N.C., Ricky McGuinn of Mill Spring, N.C., and Randy (Gretchin) McGuinn of Campobello, S.C.; and one daughter, Crystal (Charles) Jones of Mooresboro, N.C.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Allen of Inman, S.C., and Doug (Susan) Allen of Kings Mountain, N.C.; and three sisters, Doris Fortune of Inman, S.C., Dorothy Haynes of Inman, S.C., and Cindy (Jim) Burgess of Columbia, S.C. She was preceded in death by a brother, James W. Allen, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Big Level Baptist Church, Mill Spring, N.C. with Rev. Robert Orr Jr., Rev. Doug Allen, and Rev. Danny Garrett officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1-2:45 p.m.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
