When the Community Chorus takes the stage on Sunday, Dec. 11, 3 p.m., at Polk County High School to perform “An English Christmas” under the direction of Lesley Bush, the chorus will be accompanied by Pam McNeil on the piano and a brass quintet, The Cathedral Brass.

The quintet will accompany the chorus on such Christmas favorites as “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” “Festival First Noel,” “Glory to God,” from The Messiah, and “Joy to the World.” Additionally, the brass will perform two solo pieces, “I Saw Three Ships” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”

A collection of songs by the ever-popular English composer and arranger, John Rutter, will be featured in the concert. Among the Rutter pieces are “Jesus Child,” “The Holly and the Ivy,” and “Here We Come a Wassailing.”
