Students, both former and current, along with staff and community members, rolled up their sleeves at Polk County High School on Nov. 10 to donate 135 units of blood.
HOSA and health science students hosted the event. Advisors for these groups are Susan Lail and Pam Arrowood.
“This is the most units we have ever had donated at our bi-annual blood drives,” Arrowood said. “We are the largest donation site for Polk County and one of the largest school donation sites for the state. That is because of our students. They are very caring and are eager to give to others. We see it in their efforts in raising funds and assisting others. They never fail to amaze me with their generosity.”
The next blood drive is April 27 at Polk County High School. Community members are welcome.
