Tryon Arts & Crafts Country Christmas Holiday Gift Show opens Friday

The opening of TACS’ annual Holiday Gift Show, which will 11-18tacsholidayshow-santas feature artwork and handmade crafts from regional artists, will be on Nov. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at 373 Harmon Field Road in Tryon.

The event promises to be very festive. The theme this year is Country Christmas, and the evening will feature music by Phil and Gaye Johnson, seasonal hors d’oeuvres, a tree lighting and a bounty of arts and crafts to purchase for gifts. The main tree will feature “Lil’ Angel” ornaments made by TACS students and Sunny View Elementary School, sales of which will go to Thermal Belt Outreach’s Holiday Program for needy families. Guests are also invited to bring an unwrapped toy for an elementary school child to put under the tree. Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry will be picking those up on Dec. 2 for distribution.

The show will run untill Dec. 23, and merchandise is cash and carry, so it is constantly being refreshed with new crafts to purchase. If you can’t make it on Friday night, TACS’ holiday hours are Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
