The Thermal Belt Ministerial Association invites the community to its annual Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross.

Each year Polk County comes together in worship in area churches both at Thanksgiving and on Good Friday. On Sunday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m., clergy from The Congregational Church, the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, Tryon United Methodist Church, Tryon Presbyterian Church, Columbus and Saluda United Methodist Churches, First Baptist Church of Tryon, and others will lead and participate in this year’s service.

A combined choir will sing under the direction of Susie Mahnke and John Mullaney, and Father Robert Ard, Holy Cross’s new rector, will preach the sermon. Choir members are asked to be at Holy Cross, 150 Melrose Ave., Tryon, no later than 3 p.m. for a rehearsal.
