To the editor:

Many readers are cognizant of Lennie Rizzo’s endless compassion for the animals in our community.

Once again “the Dogfather” is partnering with Foothills Humane Society to save a life. A two-month-old chocolate Lab was found on the roadside with multiple injuries requiring complicated surgery. Upstate Veterinarians in Greenville, S.C. performed repair surgery to the broken pelvis on Tuesday. At the same time the ball of a femur on the opposite side of the puppy’s body was removed and rebuilt in an effort to improve future function.

The two and a half hour surgery was successful and staff at FHS is thankful once again for Lennie’s help in sharing the cost.

Often we say it takes all of us to care for the humans and animals in this paradise, some are able to go to greater lengths than other. But no matter your contribution, be assured we are grateful for each of you.
