Fall ‘Walk & Talk” Sunday at Pearson’s Falls

Published 10:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2016

On Sunday, Oct. 16 from 2-3:30 p.m. there will be guided nature walk at Pearson’s Falls. Docents will be stationed along the trail to the 90-foot falls and will point out interesting things as hikers come by.

Come see fall flowering plants, ferns, lichens, mushrooms, insects and rocks that make up the unusual ecology of the Pearson’s Falls Glen along Colt Creek. There are picnic tables and benches available for families to enjoy a picnic or snack and to take a rest on the hike up to the falls and back.

The docent corps including leader Annie Ewing, Bob Tobey, Linda Eiserloh, Marion Crounse, Jackie Burke, Lucy Brannon and Virginia Meador are members of the Tryon Garden Club and hope to make your afternoon fun by pointing out some of the things that make the glen such a special place in Polk County.
