Get ‘Untappd’ at the 5th Annual Tryon Beer Fest

Published 10:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016

The Tryon Beer Fest is now a verified venue on the world’s most popular social network for beer drinkers and enthusiasts! Untappd, a free app for mobile devices, will serve as your mobile checklist and beer menu for the Nov. 5 festival, sponsored by New View Realty. Not only will you know exactly what you’re sampling at Tryon Beer Fest (including brewery, style, ABV, and flavors), but you’ll also be able to track what you’re drinking, discover what friends are drinking, learn about nearby venues, and expand your beer palate with recommendations from more than three million users.

Craft beer has grown dramatically in both popularity and volume within the past six years, with new brewpubs, microbreweries and regional craft breweries becoming commonplace in towns throughout the Carolinas. Tryon’s proximity to what NPR has called the “Napa Valley of beer” isn’t overlooked, and festival organizers will be featuring several newer breweries and even a limited edition “Blackalachian” Black India Pale Ale collaboration with Thomas Creek Brewery of Greenville, S.C. Whether you’re an aspiring home-brewer or just appreciate the wide variety of flavors now available to beer-lovers, Tryon Beer Fest will focus on the very best local and regional beers — something many other festivals do not.

Beer festivals are as much about craft beer education as they are about community fun, and with just a few taps on your phone, Untappd will take your 2016 Tryon Beer Fest experience to the next level.
