In a quest to grow the game of golf and get more kids involved, Brian and Jessie Stewart spent Tuesday, Oct. 4, teaching golf to students at Tryon Elementary School. One class from each grade level learned the fundamentals of golf using Birdieball and Snag golf equipment.

“It was a fun day for everyone, it is important to us to give back to the game that is so rewarding. Building golf in the community is something that we knew we wanted to do when we moved to Polk County. What better way to teach the kids than to bring to the school,” said Jessie.

The Stewarts will venture back to Tryon Elementary two additional times this fall to make sure every kid gets the opportunity to swing a golf club.

A golf clinic will also be held at Bright’s Creek on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 3:30 – 5:30. If you are interested in additional information or signing up please contact the golf shop at 828-694-4510.
