We know “the guy” too, and love him

To the editor:

In reference to the column “I know a guy” (Life in the Slow Lane), Oct. 2, 2016, we know the guy, too, and how thankful we are to know him.

Daniel, from Daniel’s Auto, is the best and most honest mechanic we have ever known.  The money he has saved us over the years by charging a fair and reasonable price is a substantial amount. More important than saving money is the assurance we have of knowing his work is done correctly. Also knowing our vehicles will probably never become un-drivable due to Daniel’s excellent maintenance.

His shop is really not that hard to find. I can’t imagine driving aimlessly for 20 minutes if a person can read road signs. Just 74 East, off on Exit 167, two more rights and you are there. Pretty simple, even for us country folks. Most of us read road signs very well.

Yes, his shop is at his home and a very convenient set up. Yes, his gate is locked after hours as are most store doors except WalMart. Daniel works hard but is a good family man that deserves uninterrupted family time. How many of us would like someone dropping in unannounced at 9:30 p.m.?

So to Daniel and Sherri Boles, a big thank you for the service you have always provided to us and all our family members plus friends we have recommended to you.

We also appreciate your neighbors allowing us to drive through their property to get to your shop.
We love their ducks and chickens. Also, their turkeys, guinea fowl, geese and peacocks. It’s like a mini Hollywild and free for the looking. We love it.
