Polk District Court results for Sept. 21

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 149 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Laticia Maldona Alviar was convicted of no operator’s license. Alviar was to pay court costs.

James Christoper Bennett was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Bennett was fined $200.

Michelle L. Bennett was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of marijuana ½ to one and ½ ounce. Bennett was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Brent Daniel Burkett was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Burkett was fined $40 and court costs.

Dwight Lewis Canady was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Canady was fined $97 and court costs.

Trevor Scott Garner was convicted of speeding 54 mph in a 45 mph zone. Garner was fined $50 and court costs.

Randall David Hoffman was convicted of driving while license revoked-not impaired revocation. Hoffman was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Michael Ernes Morales was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Morales was to pay court costs.

Mark A. Nelson was convicted of worthless check simple. Nelson was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served and court costs.

Arminda Delia Ransom was convicted of speeding 54 mph in a 45 mph zone. Ransom was fined $30 and court costs.

Curtis Lee Rowe was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Rowe was fined $40 and court costs.

Anthony Schuenemeyer was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Schuenemeyer was fined $40 and court costs.

Clayton Ernest Smith was convicted of speeding 44 mph in a 35 mph zone. Smith was fined $30 and court costs.

Victoria Ann Watson was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Watson was to pay court costs.

Taylor Elizabeth Wicker was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Wicker was fined $40 and court costs.

Michael Paul Williams was convicted of failure to appear. Williams was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.
