Bring friends, family or colleagues and enjoy colorful fall foliage, scenic mountain views and cool autumn weather at Tryon International Equestrian Center’s (TIEC) Derby Days happening every Sunday from noon until 3 p.m. through the month of October. Derby Days will feature tailgating, a gourmet brunch, kids’ activity tent, live music and world-class show jumping competitions.

 General stadium seating and parking for Derby Days is free and open to the public, while prime viewing and tailgating spaces are available for purchase. Individuals or groups can reserve a 10 foot by10 foot tailgating spot for a fee and park vehicles on the derby field perimeter. Outside food and drink is permitted, or patrons can purchase food and drink from The General Store at TIEC including a pre-packed gourmet hors d’oeuvres basket for eight people, or a custom-built six-pack of craft beer. Chilled wine packages are also available.

The locally sourced hos d’oeuvres basket includes a combination of N.C. pork charcuterie, Ashe County Gouda Cheese, Bell’s Pimento Cheese, stuffed olives, canned Bech Jam, a fresh baguette, Roots & Branches Crackers from Asheville, hummus, pretzels, grapes, local apples, clementines, and Tate’s cookies.

TIEC is also offering reserved seating in the VIP Hospitality Tent where attendees can watch the show jumping competition while dining on a gourmet brunch selection featuring omelet and carving stations, waffles, pancakes, local meats and other fine breakfast items. A cash bar will be available. 

 This family-friendly event series also includes free activities for children like face painting and hayrides, plus live, local music. 

 Derby Days are ideal for family outings, group gatherings, reunions and networking functions.
