LANDRUM – The Landrum Area Business Association is calling on local businesses, schools and organizations to design scarecrows for the fourth annual Great Scarecrow Contest.

The City of Landrum and LABA are co-sponsoring the popular contest, and participants are asked to display their scarecrows from Oct. 1-29. Prizes will be distributed for the top three scarecrow designs.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for any Landrum group to decorate the town for fall and gain coverage for their business, school or organization,” LABA’s Linda Fitzgerald-Howard said. “We are placing the school and organization scarecrows in the park area across from the Hare and Hound Restaurant for greater exposure of votes.”
