Polk County High School’s Engineering 101 class finished its first build of the semester on Thursday by constructing catapults. The building process concluded with a day of competitive testing. The students took aim at targets stationed at five meters, seven meters and nine meters. At the end of the catapult testing, the students went for broke to see how far their catapults would shoot, some travelling 15-plus meters and two landing in the basket light fixtures.
