COLUMBUS – The court case against Jose Varata Vazquez and Ranier Viladrell-Munoz was dismissed last week during a Polk County Superior Court session after a motion to suppress videotape evidence of the vehicle stop was granted.

Vazquez and Viladrell-Munoz were arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in August 2015 along I-26 after officers pulled them over for failing to maintain a lane.

Once the vehicle was stopped, officers said they became suspicious of the occupants and searched the vehicle to discover approximately 3,000 dosage units of oxycodone inside a container in the vehicle.

The two men had been held in custody under $300,000 bonds each.
