Polk County District Court results

In Polk County District Court on Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 36 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Karima Merchant was convicted of misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. Merchant was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, $188 in restitution and court costs.

Michael Dale Moore was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Moore was sentenced to one day in jail and court costs.

Cornelius Thomas Moore was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Moore was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, with Judge Emily Cowan presiding, 130 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Mitchell Wayne Bailey was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Bailey was fined $40 and court costs.

Jason Mark Bourassa was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Bourassa was fined $25 and court costs.

Christopher A. Dalton was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Dalton was fined $40 and court costs.

Daniel Quinton Dain was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Dain was fined $25 and court costs.

William Andre Griffith was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Griffith was fined $25 and court costs.

Armando Jimene Guzman was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Guzman was to pay court costs.

Russell Howard Jones was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance. Jones was fined $25 and court costs.

Jose Alberto Mollado was convicted of speeding 106 mph in a 70 mph zone. Mollado was fined $200 and court costs.

Marek Petrkovsky was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Petrkovsky was fined $40 and court costs.

Stephen G. Pettyjohn was convicted of violation of court order. Pettyjohn was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.

Joseph Richard Pfaff was convicted of possession of marijuana ½ ounce to 1 and ½ ounces. Pfaff was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Edward Edkia Simmons was convicted of failure to appear. Simmons was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Cynthia F. Shugars  was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Shugars was fined $40 and court costs.
