Madison dropped to 0-6, 0-1 with the loss.

The win came on the heels of Monday’s 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 loss at Brevard in a rematch of last season’s 2A third-round playoff game. Waddell had 12 kills, 19 digs and five aces in that match, with Lynch adding 10 kills and 11 digs, Garrett finishing with 15 assists and 14 digs and Kendall Hall recording 19 digs.

Polk County returns home Thursday to host Mountain Heritage in a key WHC match. The Cougars, led by Charlotte recruit Alex Boone, suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to Hendersonville in straight sets.
