This Friday, Aug. 26, Thompson Garden Gallery and Outdoor Living will be celebrating the opening of a new show by Beverly Kies. The artist’s reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Thompson’s, 83 Palmer Street, downtown Tryon. Kies will be present to discuss her work, and the public is encouraged to attend.

Recently profiled in Bold Life magazine, Kies is celebrated for her pastels and definitive use of color. Many of Kies’ works are whimsical yet thoughtfully direct portraits of beloved animals.

Kies likes to believe that she paints the animal the way they see themselves. Her work exudes a strikingly connective and playful understanding of subject matter, design, and the human desire to love. A large selection of her horses will be showcased at the Thompson Gallery.
