TDDA works to improve downtown

The Tryon Downtown Development Association (TDDA) is off to a good start for its 2016-2017 year. We just celebrated the very successful Farm to Trade dinner downtown which brought over 350 community residents together in a wonderful atmosphere through the work of amazing volunteers.

Coming Nov. 5 is the 5th Annual Tryon Beer Fest, which blends local residents and regional attendance. December brings the Christmas Stroll on Dec. 2, and Tryon Midnight, a free community event on Dec. 31. Where else does one get to celebrate the New Year at 9 p.m., other than Tryon?

TDDA has developed a great partnership with the Town of Tryon, working closely together to improve all areas of our downtown and community at large. Coming soon, TDDA will complete a business recruitment package to bring new and vibrant businesses to our historic downtown area. In conjunction with recruitment, the design team is securing funds to help with façade enhancements.

To keep all of these wheels turning and to turn ideas into action, support through membership is vital. Please consider joining or renewing to support the efforts to improve downtown. You may join online at downtowntryon.org or by visiting the TDDA office at the Shops of Tryon, 112 N. Trade Street.

I surely hope you will consider supporting an organization that I feel is beneficial for all of us in the area. Don’t delay! Do your part by becoming a member of TDDA today.
