Blanche Smith Greene

Blanche Smith Greene, 94, of White Oak Manor in Tryon went home to be with the Lord Sunday,  Aug. 14, 2016.

Born in Columbus, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James and Minnie Champion Smith.  Mrs. Greene was a much-loved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, teacher’s aide at O.P. Earle Elementary school and a member of First Baptist Church Landrum for over 70 years.

Surviving are her son Larry Greene and wife Melinda, of Aiken, S.C., two granddaughters, Caroline Day (Coker) of Aiken, Suzanne Duling (Fred) of Philadelphia, P.A., Monica Greene (wife of grandson Gary Greene) of Columbus, N.C.; six great-grandchildren, Caleb, Phoebe, Webb Anagnos, Freddie Duling, (Philadelphia), Camille and Carleigh Day of Aiken, S.C. Horace, Greene’s brother, lives in Columbus, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her Blanche greenehusband Stanley, son Steven, daughter-in-law Frieda, grandson Gary, sisters Mary Lancaster and Pauline Gosnell, as well as brothers Ralph, Cecil, Clarence and Paul Smith.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church Landrum, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. with burial at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Landrum, S.C.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers you may make donations to First Baptist Church Landrum, Landrum Fire Department or another charity of your choice.
