Landrum Police Department July report

The following report covers Landrum Police Department activities for the month of July as presented by Landrum Police Chief Tim Edgens at the city council meeting held Aug. 9, 2016.
TRAFFIC
There were 30 traffic citations issued including: one failure to register vehicle, one failure to surrender suspended tag, one for disregarding traffic control device, one for a DUI, six for DUS, three for expired tags, one for an unlawful turn, one for no driver’s license, three for the operation of an uninsured vehicle, three for seatbelt violations, seven for speeding, one for reckless driving and one for improper tag. A total of nine arrests were made in this category including: one for DUI, four for DUS, one for no driver’s license, and three for operating an uninsured vehicle.
CRIMINAL
There were 14 citations issued in this category including: two for open containers, one for receiving stolen goods, one for larceny from motor vehicle, two for the possession of methamphetamine, four for the possession of drug paraphernalia, three for simple possession of marijuana and one for trespass after notice. Each citation was accompanied by an arrest.
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS
A total of 21 criminal investigations were carried out including: two burglary/breaking and entering, two simple assault, one recovery of counterfeit money, four petty larceny, 10 vandalism, one death investigation and one forgery.
ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
A total of 36 additional activities occurred including: two accident reports, three funeral escorts and 31 warning citations.
WARRANT SERVICES
Three bench warrants and four arrest warrants were carried out.
