Polk County Middle School offers Jump Start program

Getting an edge on the 2016-2017 school year is the goal of Polk County Middle School’s annual Jump Start program. By helping students transition into their next grade level, PCMS helps students reduce anxieties and increase the true excitement surrounding the start of a new school year.

In its second year, the PCMS Jump Start program meets for five days, Aug. 8-12, from 8-11:30 a.m. with the option of after school care until 2:30. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

During the week, students meet the team of teachers they will have for the year. They become familiar with the grade level curriculum and learn classroom/school procedures and how to improve study/organizational skills.
