Juanita F. Proffitt, 95, died December 15, 2012. Service was at the Mars Hills Baptist Church. Private burial was at the Proffitt Family Cemetery in Marshall, N.C. Mrs. Proffit was a teacher at the Tryon Elementary School. Her husband, Dr. Brank Proffitt, was the Tryon City School superintendent for a number of years.
