Landrum Police Department June report

The following report covers Landrum Police Department activities for the month of June as presented by Landrum Police Chief Tim Edgens at the City Council meeting held July 12, 2016.

TRAFFIC

There were 25 citations issued and four arrests made including: one child restraint violation, one careless operation of motor vehicle, one allowing an unauthorized driver, one DUI, one DUS, one expired tag, one with no moped driver’s license, one with no tag, one for the operation of an uninsured vehicle, three seatbelt violations and 13 speeding citations. Arrests were made for the DUI, DUS, moped driver’s license and uninsured vehicle citations.

CRIMINAL

A total of 17 citations, each coupled with an arrest, were made including: one for assault and third degree battery, one for domestic violence, one for the failure to stop for a police officer, one for a financial transaction card theft, one for malicious damage to personal property, three for petty larceny, one for the possession of controlled substance, two for possession of drug paraphernalia, one for the possession of stolen goods, one for public disorderly conduct, two for the simple possession of marijuana and one for trespass after notice.

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS

A total of 14 criminal investigations took place last month including: one financial transaction card fraud, three burglary/breaking and entering investigations, one motor vehicle theft, one sexual misconduct, three petty larceny investigations, one vandalism, one runaway, one emergency protective custody of a vulnerable adult, one for the communication of threats and one grand larceny.

ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES

A total of 31 activities took place including four accident reports, two funeral escorts and 25 warning citations. Eleven warrants were served including five bench warrants and six arrest warrants.
