Doris (Dorie) Andrews Rumsey, 91 years old, widow of Robert Elliot Rumsey, passed peacefully from this life to the next on July 11, 2016 at Tryon Estates in Columbus, N.C. Born in Albany, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harold F. Andrews and Lillian F. Andrews. She graduated from Albany Academy for Girls and Lasell College in Boston, Mass. She retired from Stevens Aviation in Greer, S.C. and was a member of Columbus United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorien Rumsey Mahoney and husband John of Metairie, La.; son James Austin Rumsey and wife Carol of Darien, Conn.; son Richard Andrews Rumsey and wife Cynthia of Speculator, N.Y.; and brother Norman B. Andrews of Slingerlands, N.Y. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: John, Ann, and David Mahoney; Christina, Austin, Tyler and Amanda Rumsey; and Eric and Ian Rumsey. Also surviving her are thirteen great-grandchildren: Erica, Jack, Charlotte, and Naomi Rumsey; Ella, Linus, Molly, Taylor and Ryker Mahoney; Rumsey and Theadora Kadar; Elle and Hudson Speel.
