Varskin Baydarian

Varskin Baydarian, 92, of Columbus, N.C. passed away Friday evening, July 8, 2016 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Columbus, N.C.

Born in Detroit, Mich. and was the son of the late Babig and Zabel Medzegian Baydarian. Mr. Baydarian was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Island of New Caledonia. During high school, he was a football star. He went on to the University of Michigan where he starred in track and field earning three varsity letters. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan law school. Mr. Baydarian retired from the Wayne County, Mich. Prosecutors Office. He was very proud to be an American Armenian and loved his family very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Baydarian and his sisters Lucy and Varsnie.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Genevieve McGinity Baydarian; three sons, James E. Baydarian of Columbus, N.C., Mark S. Baydarian (Irene) of Bayville, N.Y. and Michael R. Baydarian (Kimberly) of Towson, Md.; one daughter, Beth Ann Baydarian (Loren) of Eau Claire, Wisc. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Paul, Noah, Elijah, Ella-Jane and Lilly Rose.

Private memorial services were held.
