Friends of the Mountains Branch Library in Lake Lure cordially invites you to join us July 20 from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. for Books & Bites, a fund raising luncheon and inspirational presentation by local guest author Bob Covert in support of our local library.

As the coveted first place winner of the Silver Arts Contest, Covert is pleased to share with you wacky and entertaining short stories from his newest book entitled, “A Slide on the Bus.” A sweet tater lady, apocalyptic preachers, wise women, and down-to-earth men come to life in this author’s riveting short story collection.

With most tales designed to be read in three to five minutes, you always have time to sit down for a good laugh or a little insight into life’s most precious moments. Covert captures the joy, acceptance, sorrow, exuberance, and unbelievable humor of everyday life as he muses on growing up, blue-collar work, education, moonlighting, and family.
