Food, fun and fireworks on the Fourth

Laughter and screams could be heard all over Stearns Park Monday at Columbus’ annual Fabulous Fourth of July Festival as children (and some parents) rode the tilt-a-whirl, mechanical bull, Ferris wheel and various other rides. During the heat of the day, festivalgoers flocked to shady spots under trees by the courthouse square to chat with friends and listen to bluegrass. Cotton candy, BBQ and lemonade were popular food items. A small car show brought onlookers, and the usual impressive fireworks display capped off the night. (Photos by Claire Sachse)
