White Oak Village Apartment resident, Paul Nelson, signed copies of his new book, “A Vocational Journey of Faith,” at a book signing in the living room of Oak Hill Apartments.

The book takes us on his journey from working in retail to being a hospital administrator. He shares many of the pit falls, much of the humor and most importantly the faith it took to make such a drastic change in careers, but he also points out that with support and encouragement from family and friends it can be done.

For the past 12 years Paul has been a resident of Tryon and has come to know our own St. Luke’s Hospital and its staff quite well. He says “Polk County has a very well run hospital serving the needs of the community in an exceptional manner. It is very satisfying to see that the hospital has incorporated most of the programs that I felt were essential to make the community a major health resource.”

The proceeds of Paul’s book are going to the Scholarship Fund at Rotary.

The White Oak Community consists of White Oak of Tryon providing long term care, Benson Hall for assisted living and short term rehabilitation along with 100 one and two bedroom independent living apartments. The community is located at 70 Oak Street in Tryon.
