Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina’s leading running back and San Francisco 49ers retiree, will be on hand to kick off Summer Fun Day Camp.

Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina’s leading running back and San Francisco 49ers retiree, will be on hand to kick off Summer Fun Day Camp.

49ers retiree, will be the featured guest for the kick-off for Summer Fun Day Camp for youth of Polk and Landrum area, ages 8-16.

The kick-off with be held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center at 10 a.m., June 21. Parents, guardians and the public are urged to attend. Lunch will be served for all attendees at the Zion Grove G. Riddle Fellowship Hall, 5620 Pea Ridge Rd., following the kick-off ceremony.

The day camp will be held every Tuesday thereafter through August 9, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Zion Grove A.M.E. Zion Church.

The goal is to assist young people in developing competencies that will enable them to grow, develop their skills, and become healthy, responsible and caring youth and young adults through mentoring, arts, leadership development, vocational skill building, health and fitness.

The program will offer arts and crafts, educational enrichments, field trips, recreational activities, healthy snacks and lunch.

The program is funded by the Unrestricted Grant Fund, at the Polk County Community Foundation.
