Landrum Police Department May report

The following report covers Landrum Police Department activities for the month of May as presented by Landrum Police Chief Tim Edgens at the City Council meeting held June 14, 2016.

TRAFFIC

There were a total of 45 citations including: one child restraint violation, one disregard of traffic control device, one disregarding stop sign, one DUI, five DUS, one expired tag, two improper tags, four with no driver’s licenses, two with no moped driver’s licenses, three for no tags, two for driving uninsured vehicle, nine seatbelt violations and 12 speeding violations. Five arrests were made in this category including: two for no driver’s license, one for DUI and two for uninsured vehicles.

CRIMINAL

A total of 11 citations were made, each coupled with an arrest: one for three degree assault and battery, one for domestic violence, two for possession of drug paraphernalia, one for shoplifting, three for simple possession of marijuana and three for trespass after notice.

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION

There were 12 criminal investigation cases that took place in May including: one assault case, five burglary/breaking and entering cases, two death investigation cases, one house breaking case, two petty larceny cases and one vandalism case.

ADDITIONAL DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES

There were a total of 44 additional departmental activities that occurred including: four accident reports, two funeral escorts and 38 warning citations.

WARRANT SERVICES

Five warrants were served including: three bench warrants and two arrest warrants.
